Influencer Marketing Forecast 2026

Foreword
AI.
If there is one word that has haunted every interview, every roundtable, every survey in this report, it’s AI. Across more than 260+ expert conversations preparing this 2026 forecast, people kept circling back to it.
I don’t want this to sound like a TED Talk for influencer marketing. But we have to be honest about the backdrop: AI is now a country of geniuses in a data center, doing knowledge work for less than minimum wage, 24/7, without sleep, without contracts. In that world, most roles that exist just to process information are in trouble: junior lawyers, call-center agents, first-line analysts, a lot of what we call “executional” marketing, even large parts of development. We are building an economy where the middle layer of cognitive work is negotiable.
Influencer marketing and creator work sit in a different category.
Creators don’t just move information. Their product is human connection. Identity. Story. Social proof that still feels human. The feeling of “someone like me, or someone I trust, is actually using this.”
As AI floods every surface with content, who you trust shapes which content you ever let in and how you interpret it.That’s what creators really do: they are the human interface layer between AI-generated abundance and humans who still decide emotionally, socially, and through trust.
Ironically, AI is pushing us to be more human, not less. When everything can be polished by a model, lo-fi becomes a signal: bad lighting, messy rooms, imperfect takes, real trade-offs. Not an aesthetic – a way to prove you’re not artificial.
At the same time, AI is no longer optional in the operating model. The teams who win will use agents to scan creators, cluster intent, draft briefs, localize content, and clean reporting, so humans can spend more time on what we’re actually good at: creative judgment, strategy, community, story. That part doesn’t get automated away in the next ten years.
Maybe a hundred years.
This report is the first of its kind, led by hundreds of experts, and it is the closest we get to accurate forecasts on influencer marketing in 2026.
